This old house, built in 1909. from two partners who start pharmacy industry in Croatia, of today “Pliva”, on huge allotment with great views and large garden, is one of the most emblematic house in Nazorova. Thus, a total rehabilitation, including important safety measures, was necessary for this project. The decoration is modern yet simple and does not detract from the spirit of the original space.

The furniture is an imaginative blend of different styles including old and contemporary pieces, combining to create a harmonious and inviting interior.

Given the extraordinary height of the ceilings in space of “piano nobile” I decided to take advantage of the space and incorporate an additional level in room for boy. The public areas for living and guests and domestic functions for sleeping are dividing by differences in levels. The column that supported the sleeping gallery with bed and stairs like piece of furniture were designed as a part of the project.

The project goal was to transform an old attic into a luminous and spacious loft, with a sizable lounge, an open small kitchen's utility area, a sleeping space, and large windows. The idea is a compact cube of bathroom and kitchen that separates the public and private areas and becomes the structural axis of the space. The loft has a real warmth now to it thanks to the preservation of the original wooden beams and the white ivory hues. The wooden floors and the spatial flow resulting from the absence of walls contribute to the homey atmosphere.

Vintage and antique furniture mingle effortlessly with both ordinary and designer pieces, adding a great deal of character and personality to the house.

One of the oldest buildings in town has thereby regained its original charm.
